contacts and files always syncing

Every time I connect to active sync I get a message saying contacts and files have never been updated to this desktop and says it will do a full update. The problem is every time this happens I get to find copies of the files and some contacts at the desktop and the notebook.

Can anyone help?

I have never seen this one before - have you tried uninstalling A/S & then re-installing it again & seeing what happens then?
