Bluetooth syncing?

I've got some nasty problem with ActiveSync connection - it so happens that I cannot do anything with the files on the ipaq (it's hx2190 WM 5.0) - no copying no deleting - and as a consequence I can't actually "sync" - I can just browse the device and the CF card and all.

So here is my question - if i buy a bluetooth adapter - which I'm now considering to do - will it enable me to send/receive files between the laptop I'm using and hx2190 without using the AS. Or without a valid active sync relationship any communication between the PC and the PPC is impossible?
Please advise me kindly on that and on the ganeral way a BT USB adapter works - does it need any drivers i mean and so on?

If anybody is able to suggest anything concerning my AS USB connection proper - I would appreciate any advice. just for your info my laptop is samsung p29-no problems with usb devices whatsoever - Os windows xp - Active Sync version 4.1 (I tried to solve the problem with 4.0 but no way as well) USb cable connection - it's the 2nd time the problem emerges - the first time it needed just a reinstallation of The AS but now this won't help. Please help me Thanks a lot

Yep. It doesn't matter what kind of BT adapter.

With your AS problem, have you tried using syncing through BT?

Thanks for good news, CookieKid. No I haven't as I've no Bt adapter yet. I'm going to buy it today anyway and have a try. But the real problem is with the Sunnysoft Backup Manager I use. Because after a hard reset I did yesterday the partnership was Ok. But once I used the backup - the same picture was back - and the programme wrote something about GCounterFile.mmf being in use so I had to tell it to ignore. i remember that exactly the same thing happened last time I used the backup before this AS crash but then I did not pay attention to it.
I tried to overwrite the /Windows/ActiveSync folder I had after the backup with the one I saved from after the hard reset but that wouldn't help. So, please, CookieKid or some other helpful member advise me on what the GCounterFile.mmf actually does, and where besides the AS folder is the soft pertaining to valid AS connection located? Do you think it is possible to save/restore manually the hard reset AS status after I do a backup restore?
And, please I would like to know if anyone had similar problems with the Sunnysoft backup manager? Is it a good programme at all? And what alternatives can there be (freeware preferrably)? A couple of times I saw something about HP backup tool but somehow it is not included into my preinstalled software pack - I tried browsing HP site for that but there seems to be no trace of it - can one get the HP backup tool somehow???

A small addition to Sunnysoft users' relief. - I was stupid enough to use with WM5 Sunnysoft 2003(!) version which is not at all designed for the OS in those days non-existant. So you may feel safe. I just wonder cn the 2003 year backup manager be to blame for the crash of my AS connection? It worked Ok for a while though. - Is WM5 really so touchy?

I can send and recive files via bluetooth, but I can't establish a link using "ActiveSync via Bluetooth"...

Thanks a lot, CookieKid. It resulted.

A nice link with good information.

It was a problem with incoming serial port, on MS ActiveSync.

And, thanks for the fast reply.

great to hear that you've succeeded in establishing BT sync.

Spud, they're different types of sync'ing but uses the same partnership that you've establish.
