How do I use an existing name?

Hi guys, I'm using a 6315. Everytime my phone's memory erases I have to reinstall everything even my activesync account for my mobile device. Whenever my phone resets, the pc can't recognize anymore. How do I fix this? thanks in advanced!

If you want to use the same name each time a hard reset occurs you have to delete the partnership in AS.
To do this, open AS> go to File> Mobile device> Select the parnership> Go to File> Delete partnership> Either leave or delete the shared my documents(if you share it)> Sync your PDA again and set up a partnership with the same name> Enjoy!!

P.S. Why does your PDA hard reset so often??
My "My PDA" now updated with hints and tips including a ROM fix for the RX3700 series and installing Transport Tycoon onto your PDA.

Thanks! But after doing that, can I still restore my backed up files from that account?

Actually, I dont hard reset it intentionally. Sometimes the phone crashes so try to reset it by switching that safety lock at the back to soft reset it. If it doesn't work, I'll have to remove the battery and place it back again (I don't want to press that button).

I noticed that the phone suddenly turns on why I plug it with the USB. I'll try that next time I can't turn the phone on with the power button.

All programs are ready to be reinstalled in the add programs option of AS (aslong as they were installed from that installation of AS) A backup can be restored no problems.

All PDAs turn on when they are connected to the computer, not sure the reason but mine stays synced whenever I am at home and it has not done any damage yet (touch wood).

Hey thanks! I'm going to try it now. I'll post how it works out.

My device can sync. But somehow it can't restore. It says that there's a device mismatch. Do you know what to do here?

The device mismatch sometimes occurs when the backup is saved with a different regional setting from the default. If you changed this previously, go Start, Settings, System (tab), Regional Settings, and change it to what you used previously and try again.

If you are restoring a backup in ActiveSync (which is how I'm reading the above), you can connect as a guest to do the restoration and then you won't need to delete the partnership.
