HX2490 won't sync
Hello everyone! I'm new here and I just recently got my first PDA ever
Have to say that I'm amazed with what it can do and how fast it is. Won't be able to live without it in the future, that's for sure. Now to my problem. It (obviously) has to do with ActiveSync. Surprise surprise? I have tried different versions, reinstalling, both soft and hard reseting the PDA, disable and then enable USB allowed connections etc. Frankly, I don't know what to do anymore. The PDA is set up to sync via USB and the only thing I've changed in connections is WiFi IP settings for WLAN internet to work. I've also given the device a name. Now for some reason I don't believe it has to do with ActiveSync. The LAN connection AS makes for syncing with the iPAQ can't acquire any information for IP, subnet etc. I've tried setting it myself and that made the 10mbps connection successful but it didn't let AS sync with the unit. So, how would I go about to solve this? Btw, I use the usb connectors on the front of the chassis. That shouldn't matter, should it? I mean it detects that I've plugged a Windows Mobile device in and it creates the LAN connection but then no success. Thanks in advance guys! Cheers, Michael

Dang you've tried about everything. You sound like my boss who had gotten a new Sprint 6700 the other day. He ccouldn't get AS to work all dday. I took it with me to my desk, plugged in, AS saw it and instsalled it. So I took it back to him, told him hey it worked for me on my pc and shrugged. By the time I made it back to my office it had worked....
So maybe give that a shot. Who knows...I've seen stranger things in the Windoze world! k

I haven't solved the problem yet but I was able to work around it. I noticed that when you tried installing an application it placed the cab-files in ActiveSync's installation folder. I just grabbed them and placed them on my CF card. Then I installed from the CF card instead of via sync. Not sure it's possible to do this with all applications but all I've tried so far works.
