It seems many of us had problems with numerous mysterious UNRESOLVED items in AS. These unresolved problems would keep appearing. I have examined the issue and after careful tests... I think I figured out a solution. It will probably not work for most people but here goes.
Hopefully you backed everything up using Sprite Backup or the HP branded version ("iPAQ Backup") of Sprite Backup. For me...the unresolved messages only happened AFTER I restored the iPaq from a hard reset and used Sprite Backup to restore it.
Do the hard reset... and use Sprite Backup BUT DO NOT RESTORE... the "other databases" UNDER the "System Data" category. I also did not resolved anything udner the "e-mail" section. I then restored everything else. It seems that Sprite/iPAQ Backup have a problem with some of these databases.
What did I lose doing it this way? Everything in the In-Boxes and the In-Box setups. So I had to reset my Gmail and Pop3 details.
The problem with the unresolved items is rooted (I believe) in the databases. Once the databases are screwed up then AS on the desktop gets confused. I read that there is a way to edit these databases. I used a program in an attempt to do just that...in the process...I just screwed things up even more. Thats how I stumbled onto this possible fix!
I had the same issue many of us had...the unresolved items could not be examined and could not be removed. There was no opportunity to manually resolve them.
Anyways...I hope this trick works. I thought it was my responsability to post the fix. I was really happy when I figured it out.
