Problem Syncing Wirelessly

When syncing with AS through the cradle, AS and the PPC recognize the partnership. When trying to sync wirelessly, AS goes to GUEST mode. I had wireless syncing working at one time using a write up found on this site (used PocketHosts to set up the connection).

Upon doing more research, I found that PocketHosts can cause this problem for WM2003, so I un-installed it. Still AS goes to GUEST mode.

Then I found this: "Special note for Windows Mobile 2003 users: PocketHosts appears to interfere in some cases with the ActiveSync connection under Windows Mobile 2003. If your attempts to sync wirelessly results in a Guest connection, first use PocketHosts to remove the registry entry (host entry) and then uninstall it."

The problem is I uninstalled the program before removing the host entry. How do I fix this problem?

TIA

Not 100% sure, but try reinstalling the app, then remove the host entry, then uninstall the program.

I've never used PocketHosts so I don't have any direct knowledge of this product, but couldn't you reload it just for the purposes of removing the registry item?

You may be able to find the registry entry using a third-party software. SKTOOLS includes a tool that will search for Invalid Registry Entries and one that looks for Invalid Registry Values that might help. You can download a trial version of SKTOOLS here:

Of course, as a last resort, you can always hard reset your PDA.......

Don't know the app you mentioned, but I have sync'd over wifi just fine; you however cannot always resolve everything such as files, so a periodic usb sync is required. I don't recall doing any ting special, other than having a partnership already created and on the PC.
