AS or ipaq problem?

I've been syncing without any issues for many months. ipaq 2215, AS 3.8, both at home and work.

Last week, sync stopped working on both machines. AS opens, says "Looking for Changes", waits a while, then says, "Not Connected".

I have had a few virus/trojan issues at home lately. Stupid McAfee Security Suite didn't pick them up. They've since been cleaned out, but still no sync. I've also rebooted and soft reset many, many times.

I upgraded my home PC to AS 4.1. No change. If I open AS on my PPC, it says there's an error, "Synchronization Error". OK, that's not a big help.

I'm afraid there's an issue with my ipaq. I guess I may have to hard reset unless someone has a magical answer to this weird issue.

Have you tried a soft reset on your PDA?

If so, then a hard reset may be in order as it is affecting both computers with AS. I can't see how it can be AS if both were affected at the same time.
My "My PDA" now updated with hints and tips including a ROM fix for the RX3700 series and installing Transport Tycoon onto your PDA.

Yeah, I've soft reset MANY times as well as rebooting PCs. Still no joy.
This morning, my ipaq wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in and nothing, no yellow charge light, no nuthin'. After a while it came on and did a soft reset then said the battery was too low and shut off. However, the yellow light came on and is charging now. I think there is something amiss here. Maybe a hard reset will do the trick.

It would be the first choice (hard-reset).
Fixes many things, even those you aren't yet aware of

Just to finish this thread...

I did the hard reset. AS is now my friend again. I guess what really disturbs me about this is that I didn't change ANYTHING on my PPC. Just one day, AS stopped syncing. Bit error? Corruption (PPC, not me)? Who knows...
