Active Sync 4.1 error: 8600050d
Hi all, connected my iPaq 2490 up to my works laptop for the first time in around 2 months. Worked fine previously, this is the first problem I have had with it
![]() It now gives me an error message: "A critical error has occurred. Active Sync can recover from this error, but the next time you syncronize, you may lose changes made since your last successful syncronization. Support code 8600050d" I googled the code and it only came back with a couple of ideas but nothing to actually solve it. I took off calendar sync with outlook and the syncronization went through no problem. But as per usual I need to be able to sync my calendar. So does anyone know how to sort this out? Cheers in advance if anyone can help.

This error is a new one on me, but since you encounter this error when you try to synch calendar data, I suspect you may have some problems with your Outlook database.
Try running SCANPST (Outlooks's inbox repair utility) on your outlook database (Outlook.PST) to see if it resolves the problem. You may have to search for this program on your PC, but on my PC the program is in the \Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033 subdirectory. If you search for the Outlook.pst file and the ScanPst.exe file, you'll need to use the advanced feature and select the options to search hidden files and system files. You may need to run SCANPST a few times to allow the utility to work through all the issues in your PST file. After you've run a clean SCANPST, reboot your PC, soft reset your PDA and try to synch. If that does not resolve the issue, let me know and I'll see if I can come up with some other options. Good luck! Julie

Cheers for the advice Julie!
I've just cracked it though ![]() I tried various bits and bobs, thought at first it was some of the meeting requests and appointments in Outlook so I deleted them all, but to no avail ![]() What eventually sorted it was by deleting my PDA from Active Sync, then reconnecting and setting up the profile again. It is now working spot on again So something must have got corrupted within my profile perhaps??? Anyway it's all working 100% fine again, cheers for the help ![]()

You could try using ActiveSync 4.2 (which has been out in Beta for several weeks and has recently been released by Microsoft):
