hi.
i am having problems syncing my laptop with my ipaq 4150 via bluetooth dongle with AS (version 3.7).

i have had no great problems doing so in the past with my old laptop but since i got a new laptop (pavilion dv 1000) i have hardly been able to do it at all. (ie it works very sporadically and for no good reason).

from what i can make out my pda and laptop seem to recognise each other fine over the bluetooth connection but AS seems to have a problem utilising this connection.

in my bluetooth dongle connection settings on my laptop the pda is recognised and the connections available are via com5 and com6 usually. i also get dialogs on my pda to connect.

in the AS connection settings i have changed the "serial cable or IR connection" setting to com5 or com6 and unticked the usb connection but it never works.

as i said occasionally i get a connection unexpectedly but not because of anything i did.

can anyone help me out with this?

What OS are you running?

Are you using the latest drivers for the BT dongle?

i'm using wm2003 on my pda and windows xp sp2 on my laptop.

on my last laptop i was using windows xp sp1: could sp2 with all its security stuff be interfering with AS connecting via bluetooth.

i'm not sure if the bluetooth drivers are up to date but i can check i suppose. they seemed to work ok with my last laptop though.

do you think i need to update AS if i'm using xp sp2?
