Activesync schedule
Hi, does anyone know how to alter the “schedule” option in AS 4.1 or on my iPAQ 2790 running WM5.
“Schedule” button is greyed out on both my desktop and my PPC. Also, can I turn AS of on my PPC? It drains the battery at a horrendous rate.

This is an issue that has been reported by many on this forum. It has to do with the way windows mobile 5.0 interacts with ActiveSync, and storage cards (do you have a storage card installed?). HP has recently fixed this problem with a ROM upgrade and Firmware update.

You can set up a dummy server to gain access to this button. After you've changed these parameters to manual, then you delete the dummy server you just set up (this is the workaround for this problem that I thought the firmware update fixes).
Do not connect your PDA to the PC. On your PDA select Program > ActiveSync > Menu > Add Server Source Input 1.1.1.1. as Server address, tap Next In the next screen input xxx in the Username, Password & Domain fields, tap Next > Finish Select Menu> tap Schedule button. Set both windows to Manual. Then go back to connections and delete the fake exchange server (Program > ActiveSync > Menu > Option>Highlight Exchange Server>tap Delete> tap YES to the Warning message. All the dummy server fix does is activate the Manual button (found under Options) on your PDA so you can set ActiveSynch to only synch manually, that is, turns off the automatic process that is causing ActiveSync to turn on and drain your battery. This server setting will never be used by you, you simply have to set it up to gain access to the button. After you have set the ActiveSync parameters to synch manually, then you delete this dummy server setting.
