Hope someone can help with my query.

I would like to set up ActiveSync so that all it does is automatically downloads data (to my PC) from my a given location on my device, and does not upload any information from my PC back to the device.

In otherwords I don't really want to synchronize, I just want to create a rule when I connect my device to my PC that will download all my documents in a given folder on my device (e.g. \My Documents).

Can I do this with ActiveSync? Or do I need a different type of software to do this?

The reason for this is that I am creating various documents on my device and I would like an easy way to get these documents onto my PC. At the moment, if the documents do not previously exist on both my device and my Sync folder (on my PC) all of the new data is deleted from both locations – not very nice!

I am aware that I can switch off the Synchronizing and manually explore my device when connected - however I was hoping this could be done automatically.

If anyone knows how I can achieve this through ActiveSync (or through a different software) please let me know!

Try mobsync. it is free and can be found at
PocketPCFreeware : MobSync 0.9.4

You can add any folders and can also specify the direction you want to transfer.
