ActiveSync Why has it taken so long for this category?

Outlook notes

I can't seem to get Activesync to sync Outlook notes with my Windows Mobile phone. Can it do it ? I don't mean the notes which are part of the contacts, but the standalone "post-it" style notes.

It should just be a checkbox in the ActiveSync options, just like Contacts are.

Is that checked and they are just not coming across? Are you getting errors?

Also, I believe they must be in the default Notes folder.

Missing Notes Synchronisation

My laptop is running XP and
Outlook 2003 version 11.6502.8107 SP1 and
Avtive Sync version 4.1.0 (Build 4841)

My PDA is an HP iPAQ hw6915 running
Windows CE 5.1 (Windows Mobile Messenger 5.0)

The Notes on my laptop do not sync onto my PDA

When I look at the Sync options in Active Sync on my laptop, I see something rather strange:

The first 'Heading' is the ID of my laptop and below it at all the icons for the various components of Outlook

Some have check boxes with ticks
Some have check boxes without ticks
AND SOME HAVE NO CHECK BOXES!

The ones without are Notes, AvantGo, Images and QuickGPS
The Settings button for each of these remains grayed out at all times.

The second 'Heading' is called "Windows PC" and I do not know what this is or why this differs from the first heading - anyone?

This second 'Heading' again features a full set of Icons and, this time, a full set of check boxes:
some clear with ticks, some clear without ticks and
some gray with ticks, some gray without ticks.

The Grayed options are QuickGPS(tick), Media, Images(tick), AvantGo, Files(tick), Favorites (tick) and Notes (tick)

I cannot alter any of the grayed out boxes

So where to from here - would a migration to AS 4.2 help?
I am sure that this has worked before - what could have changed on either my PDA or my Laptop to yield this behaviour?

All ideas gratefully accepted ?:O)

It sounds like you have two devices and perhaps some other software that syncs (like AvateGo).

I had to blindly tell you to do this, but if it were my pda, I would delete both devices on the PC and setup a new partnership. And I would upgrade to the latest AS at that time.

Thanks for responding.......

Yep - I do sync my PDA with two laptops - one at work and the other at home and i guess that addresses the two header entries under AS Options.

But why to the sync options for both laptops differ - I certainly don't recall setting up any diference and why can't any option now be changed - bizarre!

I see mention of AS 4.2 and mention of an AS 4.5 Beta - is that today's choices and where is the best place to download the upgrade?

I wasn't thinking the PDA with two laptops, it sounds like you have two devices in ActiveSync on one laptop.

4.5 is not beta anymore....
