ActiveSync hangs during Sync with Outlook

I have an IPAQ 1950 that was working fine until last week. Seemingly out of the blue it will no longer sync with Outlook. I can connect to my PC and browse the IPAQ without problems. When I connect it "Looks for Changes" then just hangs during 'synchronization' with no progress indicated. No error messages are evident. I've done a hard reset and ruled out firewall issues. I created a new PST to rule out a corrupt data file. I am able to connect to another PC and sync without problems so I believe the IPAQ itself is OK. I upgraded to ActiveSync 4.5. It seems that it just can't complete communication with Outlook (2002). Is there something I am missing?

Greetings SawtoothSolutions! Welcome to the MobilitySite forums!

Thank you for noting the steps that you have already taken. I would like to confirm that AS 4.5 was installed AFTER you started experiencing problems.

If so, I would do two things at this juncture:

1.) Run the Office/Outlook Installation Repair option from Add/Remove Programs. When done, do NOT run Outlook on Host computer.
2.) Uninstall ActiveSync 4.5, delete the AS directory, then reboot Host.
3.) While reboot of Host PC occurs, perform a Soft Reset of iPAQ.
4.) After both systems have rebooted, and without starting any other programs on either device, cradle your iPAQ and begin the ActiveSync process.

Let us know how things work out...
