Email address display in PocketInformant Contacts List
I have added people from my company's Outlook address book into my Outlook contacts list. When I synch my PDA, the email addresses of people within my company are displayed in the format of the Exchange server instead of being displayed in a "normal" manner. I.e., a contacts email address is displayed as "/o=ORGANIZATION/ou=CERDECNVESD/cn=Recipients/cn=JSMITH" instead of "john.smith@company.com" like it does for all contacts outside the company that I enter myself.
The problem is that when I try to send an email to someone in my company from my PDA, the email address is not recognized as valid and the email delivery fails. Unfortunately, I have over one hundred contacts in my company that I need to send emails to, so manually reentering all of their addresses is not a good solution (and I think Outlook would reformat those addresses when I synched anyway). What do I need to change in PocketInformant and/or Outlook to get the email addresses to properly display? Thanks, Steve Wallace

Greetings Smwallace! Welcome to the MobilitySite forums!
The use of OU (Organizational Units) by your exchange server is normal for the situation you find yourself in. I am presuming that your PDA does not have access to your exchange server at the time you create the e-mail message, which would cause exactly the problem you are experiencing. If you are intent on using your company's intranet to send the mail, then compose and save your messages, and simply click send ONLY ONCE you are back at work in front of your desktop that your PocketPC synchronizes with. However, if you want to send the mail while you are at a hotspot (or some location not on your company intranet), then you'll need to find the Internet e-mail address for these individuals, which may be buried as a different field name in your Database.
