I have configured Activesync with my OWA server address and account information and when syncing it fails with an error:

I've used the Seven OWA redirector service and it syncs fine, with the same configuration information.
I've googled the error code and it seems to be a general "connection error" error.

I've deleted and recreated the Activesync connection multiple times.
I can connect to the webbased side via PIE and can log in successfully
Any suggestions?
