Cannot copy files to PC

I have an Asus PDA running windows mobile5 and my pc has windows XP pro with the latest activesync. I have show hidden files and folder turned on. When I connect to the PDA using the usb cable activesync starts normally. I then use windows explorer to try to copy files from the pda to my desktop pc. It appears to copy the file, the progress bar moves, the message "converting to desktop format" appears but after the copy the files cannot be found. The copy just did not happen. Can anyone tell me what is going on? What is set wrong where?

Have you checked your firewall settings to allow bi-directional exchange between pda and pc?

i would try something else. you may be copying hidden files. open a command prompt, cd to the correct folder, and do attrib <filename>.<ext> -H -S -R

i'm sure that will let you see your files.
