ActiveSync user?
Hi, I'm not a power user by any means, and this may not even be ActiveSync related.
My dilemma is a name change from getting married. The ActiveSync shows my old user name, and also prompts for my old Exchange user name to sync with Exchange. I removed my Exchange account and created a new one with the correct user name on my PC. I also deleted the mobile device in ActiveSync on the PC and recreated it. It still picks up my old username. On the Axim, ActiveSync will not allow me to type my new user name in the Edit Server Settings. What am I missing? Thanks.

Try this:
Uninstall ActiveSync from your computer Then delete this directory: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER LOGIN NAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\ Reinstall ActiveSync Now, I'm not sure of the Axim, but on my WM5.0 IPAQs, I can open up ActiveSync on the pocket pc and delete my profiles there as well: Tap Start > Programs > ActiveSync > Menu > Options > select any connections (ie, Windows PC) there and select Delete. Now try to create a new partnership. julie

After the uninstall, there was no ActiveSync in \Application Data\Microsoft. However, I did notice that my user login name in Documents and Settings is incorrect (my old name), and I cannot change it. Maybe this is where the incorrect username is coming from.
I'm logging in to an Active Directory domain with my new user name, however the local name on my machine is apparently still my old name. When I reinstalled ActiveSync and did the partnership, ActiveSync still picked up my old login name.

You can try deleting just the partnership (it might have tried to establish using the old one, so you might also go into My Documents and find the sync folder, and rename that too).
Instructions on how to do this can be found at the end of this thread: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...sync-sigh.html When you reconnect it will create a new partnership, hopefully that will be named properly. I am not sure that this will fix the e-mail issue.
