X51v/Vista/Outlook 2007 Pro - can they syc?
Have a new 51v running 5.0, a new HP Pavillion running Vista and Office Pro 2007 with Business Contact Mgt. Have been completly unable to get the two to sync.
Went to MS site and found a "required" download. Went through the motions and still no luck. Any suggestions or help?

Already had Mobile Manager loaded. This was a patch for Busniess Contacts in Outlook. The laptop and 51v recognize each other and even indicate they have completed a sync but there has been no transfer of data/information at all.

Older X51 and Windows Vista/Office 2007 sync experience
Peddler,
I have an older x51 (ROM06), and just got a new Dell XPS with Vista Ultimate and Office 2007. I just hard-reset the x51 and synced with Outlook this past weekend with very few problems. I didn't take detailed notes but I'll share my experience from memory. 1. Since I was upgrading my PC, I decided to hard-reset the PDA. 2. Plugged the USB cable in to the PC, set the x51 in the cradle. Vista recognized a new device and a notification popped up, something to the affect of "installing drivers". 3. The only applet in control panel that looked like the old Activesync was "Sync Center", but it wanted to sync Windows Media Player with the memory card in the x51! 3. Searched for an Activesync update on the MS support site and found "Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1". Sorry, don't have the link. 4. Installed the Mobile Device Center 6.1. 5. Put the x51 back on the cradle, and was guided through setting up a new partnership using "Mobile Device Center". 6. Syncs just fine! The only issue I had was in reinstalling Memmaid. This probably doesn't help you much, but perhaps it will provide some reassurance for others considering an upgrade to Vista/Outlook 2007. Good Luck. DD

My appologies for not updating sooner. Using the information provided above, was finally able to fumble my way to getting the two to sync. Main differnce is, while the "Contacts" hard button will bring up the "Business Contacts" list from the Business Contacts Manager segment of Outlook, the "Contacts" touch button on the screen still tries to open the basic "Contacts" and displays no data. Not a "Fatal Error", just annoying.
My thanks to Julie and Dago Dave for their assistance.
