SyncToys from M$
Anyone using this program, testify to it's usability and ease of use. Think it would allow me to sync files from CF/SD card to PC. Any clues?

I use it quite regularly for more than a year now, to back up some stuff from the laptop onto a SD card, and to synchronize some files on two computers. Seems stable (that is, I haven't had problem with it yet).
The only thing I can think of in terms of ease of use is that the drive letters are configured in the partnership once and can't be changed. That is, if I've configured c:\myfiles to synch to my laptop's built-in sd card reader at e:\, and if I insert an external usb hard drive, which then pushes the e:\ of the sd card to f:\, then the synchronization will not work until the sd card is once again accessible at e:\. Works well for me. I like it so much I posted an article about it to my blog:
http://frommypocket.pocketprimer.com...s-synctoy.aspx What wthuang wrote about it is about the only limitation I've run into. Once you've created a sync relationship with a thumb drive, you are locked into that drive letter. But it is easy enough to delete the syncing relationship and set it up again. Or you can unplug the external hard drive to free up the drive letter. | |||||||||||
