Can't synq

hello,

I've searched and not found a solution so I'm going to have to ask the question.

My X51v hasn't synq'ed since August. I've tried on 4 different machines (two of which were brand new) using Activesynq 4.5.

I've checked all the firewall settings, they appear fine.

I'm getting to the stage where a complete cold reset might be in order. I've used two different cables as well, so unless I have an issue with the connector on my Axim, I think they are fine.

Anyone have any other suggestions. since I really don't want to have to rebuild my PDA from scratch, plus lose all my task data on it.

Are you getting any error messages? Does the Axim try to sync or does nothing happen at all?

You might try an earlier version of AS before a hard reset: however, I wouldn't be worried about resetting the device. You might download a trial of backup software (Spb perhaps?) and backup to a card before resetting the Axim. If you can't connect after a reset, simply restore from the card.

In addition to Jogga's excellent suggestion, you could also try to sync via bluetooth connection. If you don't have access to a bluetooth enabled computer, you can get a bluetooth dongle and give it a try.

Thanks. I haven't got bluetooth on my PC.

In the end, I bought Spb backup, backed everything up to compact flash card and did a hard reset.

I've just re-installed everything and can now sync again (using 4.2).

Thanks for your suggestions
