Email Synchronization (Exchange) Problem with Tilt (AT&T)
When I synchronize (ActiveSync, Windows Mobile 6) my Tilt with Microsoft Exchange I have sometimes for days problems. Usually, once I have roamed for a few days it starts acting up (but that might be coincidence as well) and then I cannot sync email for days to come regardless of location, usage of GRPS, 3G or HSDPA.
It syncs calendar, tasks and notes, and sends messages, but fails to download the messages to the inbox. Actually, it seems to sync the folder structure and even downloads the messages saying something like (Email 41/41), but then it completes with error code 0x86000108. Its even more strange that I can use Tools: Manage Folders and check any folder other than the Inbox and I will be able to get these messages. I can also send messages and (following another thread about 86000108 add contacts on my Tilt which will be uploaded to my Outlook (or I should say Exchange Server which then makes them visible on my PC in Outlook 2003).
On: Exchange ActiveSync Errors and Solutions
I read: 86000108: "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server." The device is missing the root digital certificate that is installed on the server.. This is known to have occured with a Verisign digital certificate.”
with the remedy:
“Install the Verisign digital certificate on the Windows Mobile 5.0 device.”
I did this following instructions from Digital Certificates FAQ
and it actually shows under Start:Settings:System:Certificates and can be found in the Intermediate Tab. But still no sync of my Inbox.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
