ActiveSync doesn't work the SECOND time...

OK -- this is really weird. ActiveSync on my XP Pro machine has been working fine with my SCH-i760, then for some reason it stopped finding my phone. So I rebooted my PC reconnected and it found it and worked.

The next time I tried to sync it couldn't find my phone. Failure.

So I rebooted, reconnected, and it found my phone and worked. So I disconnected, immediately reconnected and it failed to find my phone.

If I reboot and reconnect, it will find it and sync.

Bottom line -- ActiveSync is requiring a reboot of my PC on each sync, otherwise, it can't find my phone.

I have disabled my AV, but that didn't help. I looked around the forums here, but this seems to be a unique problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Make sure to sync your phone first & delete the partnership. Then I would try un-installing & re-installing activesync.

Thanks. It's working now. I don't know why, but in case someone else has a similar problem, here's what I did.
  1. I did a fresh boot on my PC.
  2. I did a sync.
  3. During the sync, I noticed that I was not syncing tasks, so I put a checkmark in tasks and it synchronized them as well.
  4. I disconnected.
  5. I reconnected.
It works fine now.

ActiveSync is the strangest animal. How I long for the days of the PalmDesktop. ;)

HA! As one might expect -- I spoke too soon. The problem returned, so I followed jadesse's advice. So far, so good.

Thanks!
