Active Sync misbehaviour

Hello world!

I have an ipaq rx5940 running WM5 and a desktop PC with XP.

when I connect the two sometimes AS starts, some other times the link does not start.

Then if the link has started it happens that suddenly the link crashes.

I do not need to sync PC and PDA, I need to up/down load files.
There is a substitute of AS?

I have read about WM5torage and I will install and check, but it seems working only with SD card, not with files inside PDA.

Any help is welcome!!

You could have a look at Card Export, it bypasses active sync for file transfer.

Thanks for the hint.
however to maintain PDA register I use CERegEdit that requires a connection with PDA (user guide says AS shall be established). Do you know if CardExport will allow CERegEdit to work?

I have no idea.
It only takes a tap or two to change it back to AS
If you download the trial and test it then you will be able to tell me.

Try EveryWAN Remote Support Personal Edition. Just do a search for it. Works a treat.

Hi Box and Brambles,

I have tried EveryWAN but I have understood that it needs anyhow the ActiveSync layout.

I am in this situation: I have tested wm5torage and it works fine for file transfer.
If I want to manage registry I need anyhow an AS session active, otherwise I cannot start the two programs I am testing (both EveryWAN and CERegEditor).

If yo uhave other tips are welcomed.
I will keep you informed.
