Firewall and Synchronization

Help! I just updated my security software, and the new version of the firewall is blocking synchronization. When the firewall is on, the sync won't work; when the firewall is off, everything syncs just fine.

So I tried to add the synchronization to the programs the firewall "allows." Problem is, I can find what path and file to add to the list. I tried to place the Windows Mobile Device Center but that didn't help. Where do I find the right file that the firewall settings will recognize and stop blocking the synchronization?

Well, looks like my post just illustrated my stupidity--but that fits my pattern here. Apparently there is another setting for the firewall rules in another part of the program that is fairly handily switched and, once completed allows for a smooth synchronization.
