Help w. Activesync..hangs on calendar

My 4.2 was working pretty well with my Cingular 8100..so I decided yo upgrade to 4.5. Big mistake..never got it to sync.always hung up on Calendar...also deleted lots of random meetings off of my device though they were still in Outlook.

After several reinstalls/re partnering I gave up and reinstalled 4.2 ..same issue won't sync and hangs on calendar.

Any ideas?

I find when AS acts up, it is one or two items. I usually send all items to the deleted folder, get sync to work and then amove them back to the folder (calendar in this case) a few a time. Two things usually happen, either they all go back and syncing works or I can find the item that is messed up and recreate it.

And you might try going to 4.5 before troubleshooting, just to see if you can get it to work...

HMMM..would like to try that, but I have 4000 appointments on my calendar. Any idea on which types may be a problem? Have reinstalled 4.5...repaired outlook...no luck so far. I am almost willing to do a hard reset on my device, but am afraid that if outlook is the problem, will lose everything

Can anyone help????

I have tried moving all of my outlook appointments and syncing..ended up with a bunch of really old stuff in outlook, but no changes to my Pocket PC (Thank god) and still hung after completing 552/1536 items.

I am terrified to do a hard reset as I am afraid I will lose my whole calendar.

The exact thing happened to me when I upgraded to ActiveSync 4.5. I also tried to go back to 4.2 but the same thing happened. I did a hard reset on my iPAQ but I think it wasn't necessary. I found triple appointments that were created during the upgrade so I cleaned all the extras out and then went back to 4.5. I then went in and created a new partnership WITHOUT synching the calendar. Then I added the calendar in but only synched two weeks. Then I just stepped up through all the available settings until I finally synched all my appointments again. I works well now and seems significantly faster than 4.2.
