I just found out about ActiveSync 3.8. My X50v is less than 1 week old and came with 3.7.1. In upgrading, I have this question, do I need to disconnect the cradle. If y'all remember, when the thing is new is clearly states Do Not Plug The Cradle Until ActiveSync is Installed.
By the way, I found this because I had my first freeze up when I installed Avangto. Then I ran the trouble shooter, which lead me to Microsoft and I found this:
If you use AvantGo and have installed an upgrade (such as the AvantGo Security Upgrade for Pocket PC devices), installing ActiveSync 3.8 will prevent AvantGo from syncing properly. To fix this problem, please reinstall the latest version of AvantGo.
Remove the cradle and install 3.8 or leave the cradle in or does it really matter?

I would unistall 3.7 unplug the cradle, install 3.8 and plug the cradle as if it was brand new out of the box.

By uninstalling the old version and installing the new version so it is clean and fresh, how would the previous sync settings from other programs (ie ewallet, worldmate,etc) still be in tact. Would the add and remove box from activesync still be populated with the programs from your PC that are installed on your handheld.

Someone told me to overwite the current version with the new one, and I have not and probably will not do that, because I do not want to have to deal with issues.
