I have to constantly reinstall activesync

I'm using an x3i and active sync 3.8. When I first install active sync, everything works fine. But if I take my pda out of the cradle and put it back in, nothing is recognized and I can't get my pda to connect to the computer. But if I uninstall, restart, and install, everything works fine again. Any suggestions?

Is it the same with Active Sync 3.7?
If you get dead silence after breaking the speed of sound, would you be in the darkness after passing the speed of light?

I noticed on mine that if I put it in the cradle the first time, it will hook up. If I turn it off, then back on, it doesn't. I turn it on one more time and it does. In other words, it will work every other time. Try doing that before you reload Activesync again.

I would call dell if I was you. This is a very weird behavior. Maybe something on your PC isn't right. Are the other USB devices working OK on your PC if you have any?

I hope someone can clairfy this issue because I too have that same problem. This is the 3rd computer that has had this issue. A home computer, and 2 brand new IBM T42's. Ive tried both 3.7 and 3.8. It works in the morning, then the next time you cradel it, I get the message below.

Unable to connect to your mobile device. It is not compatible with the version of Microsoft ActiveSync currently installed on this desktop computer.

It will sometimes work if I soft reboot the Axim. Then if that doesnt work, I need to reboot the laptop. Its VERY ANNOYING doing this 15-20 times a day.
Dell Axim X3i
