Make sure that you have the latest version of ActiveSync (3.8) installed:

nah, I've pulled the SD prior to cradle insertion .... no change.
Hard reset didn't help either still can't sink the outlook items.
I've noticed that when the pda starts activeSTINK it very briefly flashes a pop-up with 2 options on, one authenticate I think ?
I hate using hard-reset as Ifind the screen calibration so very annoying taking over 10mins :realmad:
Also left of the speaker icon at the top, the connectivity icon has an X, as it won't have any info yet. Do I really need t oset this for USB access to Outlook ??

Morning everyone,
Boy was I glad to see this thread. I had posted an earlier one but didn't see any responses. After the A02 upgrade, mine was working smoothly for three days. Then, every time I started up my laptop, I would get a pop-up window error message saying activesync didn't recognize my device. (even though it wasn't in the cradle) After numerous - soft resets and plugging and unplugging of the cord, suddenly it recognizes the Dell x50v with no problem and will sync. But, once I turn off the laptop, I have to go through all the same plugging and unplugging again. What a pain. Clearly, there seems to be some relationship to the A02 upgrade and this type of problem that people are starting to see. Hope someone has the "final answer soon"

ActiveSync Issues
Tried the Remove the the SD & CF Card idea and ActiveSync is now Happy. But the issue now is that unless I remove them EVERYTIME it doesn't Sync?
Really wish that I hadn't Deleted the A01 Backup File from my workstation back when it appeared the A02 upgrade was going to be fine.

Looks like 'favorites' is sort of a common problem. I had that this week too. Try unchecking the 'Sncronize offline content' box in AS on the desktop under options>favorites>setting>Customize tab and see if it helps. there may just be too much stuff trying to go accross the connection but I'm not sure about this.

ActiveSync ?
After going Back and Fouth and Back and Fouth about the A02 Update with Dell, they finally sent me a replacement x50v with the A01 ROM on it. Guess what ..... now ActiveSync works flawlessly again?
Is it just me or is there something just NOT quit Right with A02?

When syncing gets bad enough:
I do a Sprite backup to the SD card
Delete the old partnership
Do a hard reset
Change the X5's ID back to what it was
Resync with this "brand new machine"
Launch the backup executable, go get coffee
When the PC finally catches up, it has to agree with the X5.

Had a similar problem with not sync'n when it had sync'd before. I used MemMaid to clean Dead Registry, and Bad Uninstalls. Then I did a soft reset. Now, everybody's talk'n!

I had this happened to me, and I could not sync at all. EVerytime I deleted partnership and tried to restore the Sprite backup and soft reset, it would work fine, but if I reboot my PC or remove Axim from cradle, the same "no-sync" happens.
My workaround was as follows:
1. Make sure you have a Sprite backup (exe) preferable saved on SD card.
2. Hard reset your PDA.
3. Run the Sprite backup exe on SD card, it will ask you to re-register your Sprite program.
4. Create a new partnership. Ignore the old one, as its useless.
You're back to normal. I believe that it was caused by an errant program that screwed up somehow. Anyways, good for now.

All these FUN AS problems.......... My X30 has been working flawlessly for weeks with home PC and work laptop until yesterday when my laptop did not recognize my device name wanting to sync as guest or new partnership. Ended up guest, AS restore, and all was ok with laptop. Then later sync to PC, same issue. After uninstalling AS and reinstalling on both machines, it is working fine FOR NOW. AS seems to have a mind just to screw with you when it wants to. Had this same issue a year or so ago with my X5 for no apparent reason

Just started to happen to me..
Are you by change running a version of WisBar?
I had this problem last night, after I installed the latest Beta of LakeRidge's WisBar Advance 2. I don't know if it's related (yet), but I supspect that one of the Today plugin's has a PIE dll loaded in memory, causing the conflict. Will report back when I fix the problem.

I tried to active sync a couple more times and then got the same error message I got this morning:
"WMS Idle: WCEMgr.exe - Application Error - The instruction at "0x7c911c48" referenced memory at "0xfffffff8". The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminatte the program."
That's where I'm at. Confused and not sure what to try next.
