Activesync was fine, suddenly broken

I am stumped! I've had my X50v for two months now. Been using activesync with my work pc via the cradle and my home pc via wifi (once I set it up with the cradle).
I did the ROM upgrade about 3 weeks ago and have been using activesync daily. At home I sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Favorites, Notes, Files on Outlook 2002 SP3. At work I sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Inbox, Notes, Files on Outlook 200 SP1.

This morning I synced at home as normal. Then when I tried to sync at work later in the morning I got a syncronization error and then activesync disconnected. Tried the following things:

- Soft reset
- PC reboot (including a full power down)
- Outlook Detect and Repair
- Hard Reset with a backup restore to 2 days ago (during this gap I successfully synced at both work and home)

I finally determined that I could sync if I only selected Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.

Brought my cradle home because I thought I might have trouble. Sure enough, could not sync with wifi with my normal settings, but I could sync Calendar, Contacts and Tasks. Same results with the cradle.

Tried the hard reset and backup restore again at home because I thought I might have done something wrong the first time. Still had the same results.

I have not installed or removed any programs in about 2 weeks on the X50v. I didn't do much of anything with it between my home and work syncs this morning.

The only thing I can think of right now is that when I sync at home, my Favorites will sync multiple cycles, so I usually select Stop on the X50v activesync, then Disable wifi when I leave for work. That's what I did this morning too.

What happened? Do I need to do a hard reset and re-install everything from ground zero again?

I don't think that happened. However, in the midst of all the troubleshooting I did have to delete my partnership and create a new one. Right now I have only one device shown (the same one) in activesync on my work PC and my home PC. I also did change a rule in the midst of the troubleshooting, but this was only after the problem occured. Basically, I changed the Desktop Conflict Resolution Rule from "Leave the item unresolved" to "Always replace the item on my device" in order to avoid duplicate items.

Still can only sync Calendar, Contacts and Tasks on both PCs.

Brought the cradle home and it won't sync with my Inspiron 9200 either

Count me also! This morning before going to work did my typical routine. . . removed the X50v from the cradle and then re-inserted into the cradle again and active started up, then a few seconds late, got an error on my PC screen. I tried to sync again and got the same error. Didn't think much of it and figured I would trouble shoot it tonight. Came on here to search for any similar problems and found this thread.

This is way to coincidental. I've had my X50v for one month now, not a single active sync problem. I only sync on one computer, my home's, and it has been flawless. When I get home I'll try again and post any error message that pops up.

Yes, I have rebooted the computer. At first I was not getting the error message. What was occuring was it would say conected, looking for changes, it looked for about 5 seconds, gets to favorites and closes. Right before it closes I can make out it says attention required next to favorites.

I tried to active sync a couple more times and then got the same error message I got this morning:

"WMS Idle: WCEMgr.exe - Application Error - The instruction at "0x7c911c48" referenced memory at "0xfffffff8". The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminatte the program."

That's where I'm at. Confused and not sure what to try next.

After a hard reset I have now been able to sync with my lappy again. Hopefully everything will be fine when I get to work tomorrow and I will be able to sync with my works PC ok.

Now on my 5th hard reset in just a week

Still won't sync with my works PC even though it used to.

Are these all A02 related issues or something else?

Mine just stopped syncing after i installed some software (magic Button) which worked fine until i did a soft reset. Went to the previous nights backup (I'm testing Sprite backup and i really think i'm gonna buy it now :) ) and did hard reset and a full restore. 3 mins later i can sync again.

ActiveSync Woes

Not that I am glad that anybody is having issues, but just glad that it is NOT just me being old and stupid.

I have been though everything that everybody has said.

Uninstalling .. Reinstalling .. Soft Resets .. Hard Resets .. etc
Everytime things will go to working just fine for a day or so.

Just seems a bit odd that I have NOT installed any new software just installed A02? Dell is talking about sending me a replacement unit, but before I do this they actually suggested that I check out this Site to see if somebody outside their world has a fix?

That is a warm feeling?

Methias that's ridiculous DELL asking you to go here, they should be familiar with the problems & resolution.

Who/where/how did you contact ?

My problem is I get everything BUT outlook items.

I get 'tasks' attention required
and on the three outlook entries it says
sync status is on the device

Checking the pda.....

Synchronisation failed. Information cannot be synchronised because a connection to the network was not detected. Check your device connection settings and try again.
Error code: INTERNET_29

This is with Outlook2003 installed.
Is there a mobile option thingie in Outlook I don't have installed

Do any of you guys have an SD card plugged in?

There are reports in other threads that taking the SD card out before placing the Axim in the the cradle solves the problem :D
