ActiveSync via LAN
Hi,
My x50v connects to the web via my LAN and will sync when it's in the USB cradle, but I can't seem to get the x50 to connect and sync via the LAN.
I do have "Allow network and remote access service sever connections withthis desktop computer" enabled in the Connections settings.
Any suggestions will be most approciated.
Thanks,
-M-

Hi jpmarth,
Many thanks for your reply and for correctly guessing what I MEANT to say. (As you may have gathered, I'm strugging to keep up with this technology)
I followed your pointer and found the info I need, Thanks.
I'm new to this board and have not been able to find the way to "jump" to the appropriate thread, for example, say, "Go to your last 5 posts".
I'd appreciate a pointer, (I promis not to bug you again ;-)

I followed Ikehikers wi-fi guide and I haven't fixed my prob yet. It will try to sync and then tell me that it can't sync to the PC even when it is on. I have no idea what is going on here. So if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

Mulangi, I moved the thread to where it is likely to get more visibility and more focused answers. BTW, I'm struggling with the same problem, so I hope you get an answer.

at the top of the page click on Search then Advanced Search and you will find ways of jumping to your last posts.

just as a thought.... have you tried to do a minimal sync? like only the files or only the tasks? I wonder if maybe something is messed up in one of the Outlook files and not letting you sync.

ActiveSync over WLAN
Thanks to all who have "chipped"in on this.
I'm getting close but I'm still not able to Sync via WLAN.
I have turned off the firewall and can:
- sync via USB
- connect the PPC to the web via WLAN
- ping the PC from the PPC
- ping the PPC from the PC
(I've also taken the underbar out of the PPC name)
but I can't get the PPC to connect to the PC using ACtiveSYnc.
If I attempt to connect from the PC a window opens that only gives USB and iR and I can't seem to find a way to initiate a connect from the PPC.

Im no expert but try this, enable "Allow network and remote access service sever connections with this desktop computer" then open acivesync on your ppc the shortcut should be in the start drop down menu then tap the green icon on the left that says sync.

You also need to make sure that you have NETBIOS enabled over TCP/IP in the properties section of the network adapter you are using on your PC.
Also, you probably want to make sure that you check the "stay connected" option in Activesync on your PPC.
After this Im out of ideas hope this works for you.

Ok, make sure that in ACTIVE SYNC on the pc you have sync over network selected.
make sure in the ppc that you have your PC selected as the device to sync with.
