Activesync problem on multiple computers?

Suddenly, Activesync on 2 different computers no longer recognizes that my Axim is connected via USB. This suggests that something is wrong with the PDA. The only thing that I have done to possibly mess things up is to sync the unit with a Mac computer, using PocketMac. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sync problem

Suddenly I'm unable to synchronize my X3 with either of two computers. I have tried multiple different USB ports without success. I have tried to fix the problem with a hard re-install, but all this did was eliminate all of my data without allowing me to synchronize with the computer. The only thing that I have done differently just before this problem arose was to attempt to synchronize the device with my Macintosh computer using the program PocketMac. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried deleting your current partnership and reinstalling ActiveSync?

Welcome to Aximsite! :)

I have deleted my current partnerships and have reinstalled Activesync. I have also just tried installing Activesync on a different computer and it still does not recognize the PDA. I have tried 2 different USB cables without success. Are there problems reported with the connector on the Dell Axim? If this is my problem, is the unit doomed?

One last thing to try is a hard reset. If you have a backup, do not restore it until you try to re-establish the partnership.

I have tried a hard reset twice, without success. What is strange to me is that when I put the unit on the cradle, it appears to engage properly (the Dell symbol lights up and the unit turns on), but there is no sound from either the unit or the computer indicating that a connection has been made. I have now tried to sync the unit on 3 different computers with 2 different USB cords without success.

Any suggestions as to how to get this to work would be greatly appreciated, because I am about to abandon this unit and purchase another one.

Wow, I thought I was the only person to have this problem. I just bought a bluetooth hub for my pc and sync'd via BT.

Is the Dell USB driver installed and operative? The Microsoft USB drivers will NOT work. You must use the Dell provided drivers from the CDROM.
