Activesync install problem

I have just tried to re-install Activesync 3.7 from the disc. It installs partially and then stops. The exact same thing happens when I try to install version 3.8. Is there a computer setting that is interfering with these installs? I am running XP Home with SP2 installed. Any assistance would be appreciated.

First restart the computer. Then, try closing down any other apps you have going. Including those running on the toolbar.

What happens if you just let it sit for a while?

I have just tried to restart the computer, disable or close everything, including the spyware software and firewall. I have let the computer sit for about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I got the same result. When I click on the .exe file, the program unloads a few dll files and then quits.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. If anyone knows how to fix it, I'd be grateful if you'd enlighten us.

Thanks in advance,
Laura

Got it - it was Zone Alarm. I just changed my program control setting from med to low and it worked. Now if I could just figure out what this strange line across my screen is...

I've been having the same problems. I'm not running zone alarm but have AVG and microsoft antispyware. will shutting them off help? I'm at work now so I'll have to try it tonight.
