I realized there were not too many good install instructions.
1. Download and install program and install via Active sync on your primary computer. Turn off, disconnect, turn on, and reconnect. Let the sych finish.
2. On subsequent computers, install active synce. On the PDA, open Programs, then Multi Partnership Sync. On the "Connect to Computer Name" window, you should see the name of the first computer you set up Active Sync on.
At the bottom, press on Register new partnership, connect the PDA and let Active Sync set up a full partnership. When its finished, Press the Save button on the PDA in the Multi Partenership screen. You should see the new partenrship name appear (it will be the host computers name).
The main things to watch out for is "how much space is left?" (ie, watch your storage space) and duplicate entries in contacts especially.
For some reason when I had this program on my X50 it worked fine with my single user Win2K account and multiple user account on Windows XP Home.
Now however when I have upgraded to XP Pro (multiple user accounts) on the old XP Home machine and XP Home (multiple user accounts) on the old Win2k box I can only sync with the XP Home machine and when I try and sync with the Windows XP Pro it always asks for setting up a new partnership and not recognizing the previously created partnership with the program.
If you have more than one partnership what is being sync'd? Is it possible to sync work contacts at work and personal contacts at home? Are there more details about what this program does and why you'd want to have more than one partnership?
Well I decided to give it another shot after I had to a complete hard reset after my X50 fubaring after the A05 ROM update and low and behold it is working fine now.
Thanks, Curtis! Now I have a question. Let's say I don't want to sync any email at all. I want to sync my contacts, calendar, tasks etc for work at work, and the same stuff for my personal contacts at home. How do I set this thing to sync that way? Are there instructions somewhere?
thanks.
Your welcome and as for instructions there are the instructions for using the program on the second post in this thread:

Then every time you want to sync with a different computer launch the Multiple Partnership program and tap the computer you want to sync with and the begin syncing (connect via the cradle, cable, WiFi or whatever you use to sync). Just remember that if you're prompted to create a new partnership 99.9% of the time it is because you have forgotten to run the Multiple Partnership program and did not select the partnership with the computer you want to sync with.
Lastly, as for not syncing email once you have established partnerships on each computer just disconnect from ActiveSync and then go into Tools then Options (this is on ActiveSync on your computer not your PDA) then uncheck Inbox if it is not already unchecked then click OK and make sure to do this will every computer you sync with.
thanks again, curtis. But when I sync w/different pc's, does that mean all my contacts on my ax get transferred to the pc? Or can I choose whether the pc overides the ax and vice versa?

Steve,
Contacts are different than Inbox (if you look below Calendar in the Tools -> Options of your PC's ActiveSync you will see Contacts listed there) as Inbox is your actual email messages.
However, if you want to sync your contacts this is what will happen.
If your home PC has contacts that your PDA does not then they will be added to your PDA and if your PDA has contacts that your PC does not then they will be added to your PC.
Lastly, if you want to only sync certain contacts to your PC what I suggest is that you put the contacts that you want on your PDA only in a specific category (below Home Address when view a contact) and then click on Contacts in Tools -> Options of your PC's ActiveSync and then select Settings and then click on the circle next to "Synchronize only those contacts in the following selected category" and then put a check mark in the category(ies) that you have/have not used for the contacts that you do not mind being on your PC.
An example when this would apply is if your PDA has contacts that are Business only edit the contact and choose the "Business" contact or if they're personal choose "Personal" when putting a check mark next to the specific category under "Synchronize only those contacts in the following selected category".
This would keep your contacts that you want to keep on your PDA only on your PDA and as well if you want you could give your contacts on your PC catagories as well so that they do not get added to your PDA.
Hope this helps some more if not keep the questions coming ;)
Curtis, you're awesome. I will begin the multisync operation Monday, b/c my main computer is my work one, and see how it goes. Thanks for all the detail and help.
