I installed the trial of newsbreak on an Axim X5 and now that I've uninstalled it via the proper proceedure ActiveSync refuses to work. Rebooting the Axim when connected via USB and ActiveSync momentarily shows the connection until the following error box pops up:

notification error cannot execute \SD Card \Ilium Software \Newsbreak [pocket pc] \newsbreak.exe

Then Activesync dies.

When trying to manually establish the connection the following error message pops up: cannot connect: you have no modem entries created, and no network card present

I'm assuming the newsbreak error is somehow hosing my activesync. How can I kill the Axim's attempt to load newsbreak?

I had this problem with another news program. The issue is not with the PDA, it is with the PC. Go to task manager and kill the task related to the news program, the try to sync.
