Active sync keeps disconnecting

My axim x30 disconnects after it syncs. In order to sync again I must disconnect it then reconnect it. I have as 3.8. When I open AS on my pda and press "sync" nothing happens. I want it to stay connected the entire time it's connected. I have set to sync continuously.

Thanks,
Steve

I have the same problem with my laptop that has USB 1.1. I do not have this problem with two desktops that have USB 2.0. The only thing that I have been able to find that is different is the version of USB.

That's interesting, but there must be more.

I just did a hard reset and now it works fine. I had Act!link and companion link working at the same time and that must have screwed things up.

This is killing me

My connection comes and goes for no apparent reason. I've tried everything that I can think of. It seems to me that the disconnect happens when ActiveSync on my Axim turns itself off. I have yet to determine a pattern or option setting that keeps the connection open. For instance, just yesterday the connection was up for about 5 hours, then suddenly, without any action on my part, it just dropped. So then I spend 3-4 hours trying to get it back. What a waste of time!

See my post from a few months ago. No problems with the new unit.
