Problems Syncing Tasks

Anyone have any idea as to why when i attempt to only sync certain catagories in my tasks activsync completely ignores it and syncs all catagories? I have uninstalled / reinstalled. And upgraded to 3.8, but i still have the same problems. It just wont let me sync only certain task catagories. Any help would be most apperciated. Thank you!

how are you trying this? hitting the sync button? you have to right click on the cat you want to sync.

i go to options and do it there. i click on the catagory i want but it always syncs all of them.

Maybe I am missing something but I don't see a way to do it from that screen. All you have to do is right click on the thing you want to sync and the menu will show you a selection to syncronize that thing by it self.

I'm not sure if this will work, im trying to post a picture of what im refering to. Basically if you double click on tasks you can choose 4 settings:

sync all tasks
sync only incomplete tasks
sync tasks depending on selected dates

and

sync only those tasks in the selected catagories, then you can choose the task catagories you use in outlook. When i do this it ignores the catagories i ask it to sync with, and instead sync's all of my tasks. FOr example if i have my tasks in 2 catagories, to do, and work. and i only want to sync to do, i check the to do catagory when im in the tasks options in activsync. Then when i sync it should only sync that catagory. But it insteads sync's all.

OK I see what you are doing now but I tried it here and it works fine. I made two tasks,one was in the business cat and one was in the gift cat. I told it to sync only the gift cat and that is all that showed up. when I told it to sync business the business task showed up but the gift task that was already there was still there. Is that what you are seeing? remember it is doing a sync which doesn't delete anything only mirrors it. try doing what I did and see if you get the same results. oh and by the way, to post a pic if you don't have a server to put it on, scroll down further on the reply page and you will find a place to attach a file. that's how i did mine.

where I'm having a problem i think is that i sync from both my office pc and my home pc. there are certain tasks i dont want to see at home (because MS doesn't know how to write competent software and doesn't allow task reminder times to sync). Once I tell my home pc to only sync certain catagories it ignores it and syncs the catagories i want a only random others. It seems like there is a bug somewhere. The other problem is now that i have deleted my partnership at home when i recreate it my catagories dont show up anymore so i have to sync it with all tasks, then select the catagories i want. What happens is the tasks from the catagories i didnt want stay and when i try and delete them, it syncs and they get deleted on my axim! Its very strange and i apoligize if it doesnt make sense. I'll fool around more with it this weekend and see if i can figure this out. I appericate the help.
