ActiveSynch without ActiveSynch?????

Here is an interesting situation. I am not allowed to connect my AXIM X50V to my work computer for security issues, but i would like to synch my calendar to my PPC. Right now I export the pst file to a SD card, take it home and put it on my home computer, then activesynch there. This is pretty cumbersome. Is there a way or a program that I could take that SD card, put it into the PPC, and update my calendar program directly, whether it is the built-in inbox or a third-party vendor?

Not aware of one. Why is it they don't want you conecting your Axim to the network? There are no known viruses that affect the PPC.

I guess technically one could ride along in your Axim and move to the PC, though I have never heard of one yet.

The virus concern is a small one. Most companies have concerns of the expense of increased IT use as a result of "non-necessary" programs being put on their machines. There's always the risk of someone putting sensitive corporate info on a mobile memory device(Axim, ipod, etc.) and selling it or otherwise inappropriately using it.

He could also be working in an industry which does not allow anything which could be used to transfer data hooked up to computer. Most weapons and research laboratories are like this.

I wish it were that simple or sinister of a situation, but it is purely money. I am in a government office controlled by military IT support. Since the IPAQ is not on the approved list of IT provided equipment (i.e. the IT department hasn't begun overcharging for it yet) then there is no reason to have activesynch. I do not have administrator priviledges to install it and the network is scanned for unauthorized software anyways. I would like to be able to transfer the notes, calendars, and files to the IPAQ, but haven't found a easy way other than activesynch. Oh well, talking the pst files home and synching there is a cumbersome, but effective way. Thanks for any ideas you can think of.
