Sync between multiple computers
Hi,
I have the following problem:
I want to sync my work computer (outlook 2002 sp2) to my Dell Axim X50 and then to my home computer (outlook 2003 sp2).
I have the latest ROM and use AS3.8.
At home I use Outlook Express for emails, but also want to sync my appointments, so I setup AS accordingly, and then I can see my appointments in Outlook.
I have 2 problems regarding syncing my calendar:
1) AS is set up as described above (ie a 1-way sync), but even so
appointments on my home outlook affect my DELL, and then my work computer.
For example, yesterday I erased manually all appointments from my home computer and then synced (the DELL was physically disconnected while I erased the appointments), and to my surprise almost all appointments were deleted from my DELL.
Then I synced with my work computer, expecting the calendar on the DELL would be overwritten, but again - almost all appointments were deleted from my work calendar! Luckily I backup outlook at work very often, so besides the scare no damage was done.
So my question regarding this issue is - what exactly am i doing wrong?
I have printscreens from my DELL AS setup, my home and work computers setup, I can email them if required.
2) During the sync process at home (again - this is relevant only to the calendar) - I receive in my home computer a message that XX items were not synced (unresolved items), and when I press the button to resolve them, I receive another screen which says that "microsoft office outlook does not recognize YYY, select the address to use", where YYY is my username in the
work network.
As far as I can see, this happens only in appointments that I organized.
What puzzles me is that all other meeting attendees are defined in the same way in the work network, and I have no problem at all syncing the other appointments. Also, there's no problem with appointments where only I appear (such as appointments that serve as reminders for activities that take place out of work, and there's nobody else invited, but I am the originator of the appointment).
This is driving me crazy! not to mention the hours I have to spend correcting my work calendar.
Thank you for your help.
Daniel
