Please help me! Won't create "Files" folder?

I have a Dell Axim X50v.
I have ActiveSync 3.8
ActiveSync REFUSES to create the "Files" folder on my computer.
It keeps giving me the "Attention Required" message.
Clicking the "Resolve Items" does absolutely nothing.

The problem that needs to be resolved is that ActiveSync will not
create a "Files" folder.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Many Thanks!
David Coe

At what stage does this happen? Go to AS options then select files and then settings. I will display where the folders should be. Check to see if it is there and if you have access to it. It might might be in a folder that you don't have permission for.

When I try to look at the "Settings" it will not open a dialog (probably because there is no "Files" on my desktop.

When I check the "Files" box, a dialog comes up and says that a syncronized files folder will be created on my desktop, but that does not happen, and therefore it will not allow me to look at the "settings".

I am running WindowsME.
I did not have the same problem on my wife's desktop, nor my laptop, just my office desktop.

Thanks,
Dave

Not familiar with ME but if I had to guess I would say that your work has something in the security settings to disallow this. I don't want to undo mine but I remember it asking where to create the folder. It was once in a system folder make sure you select "my documents" which you should have permission for.

This might be the problem. On my pc (xp) it creates a file here: C:\Documents and Settings\"user name" \Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles\"device name". This is in addition to the sync folder. Check if it is there and you have access to write to this folder group.
