Hmm Active sync problems

Ok, here goes, I just got the x50v. I am a long time Palm 515 user. I have installed, removed, installed active sync on my laptop with no success, I think. I followed the directions. The x50v shows connected, but when I sync nothing happens. On the desktop it shows Active sync not responding. I am really ticked at this thing. Great screen to look at but nothing to see. Please help.

Have a look at the AS Tutorial in my MyPDA - follow the steps as it states.

Welcome to the site

Did you install Outlook first?

Yes, I had to reinstall Palm sofware to switch everything over to Outlook. Then followed the Active sync cd, Outlook first then Active sync. Everything seemed to go ok. But nothing from Outlook came over.

Yes. By the way, thanks for the reply. I now have a Active sync on my laptop in start menu. But no sync folder on desktop. When I try and sync, still nothing much happens. Error report says unable to connect. Verify your dialup or proxy settings are correct, and try again.

Leave the Axim in the cradle, open ActiveSync and go to File > Connection setting and make sure that the Allow USB Connection... is selected. Click the get connected button and follow the instruction. I will check this thread form time to time.

Also, turn any firewall software off and see if it connects.

Every time I put the Axim in the cradle it takes me back to the set up a partnership screen. How many times do I have to do this?

You should only have to do this once if the partnership is created correctly.
If you picked "guest" it will happen every time.

Ok I uninstalled and reinstalled active stink. For the first time I got the get connected window. Then I set up standard partnership, selected synchro settings. Then set up complete, then clicked finish. When Active stink window comes up there is nothing listed in information type nor any thing at top highlited. What am I doing wrong?

At this point you should just be able to sync by either remove the PDA from the cradle and reinserting or click the Sync button in the ActiveSync window. One more question is the USB port that you use is on the PC not a Hub USB port.
