It has recently come to my attention that my computer became extremely slow when I tried to transfer files to/from my axim (x30h) and using WMP10 to sync my music.

I traced this problem to McAfee Anti-Virus. It seems that it was scanning every single byte that was transfered, causing a 100% cpu usage problem. When I disabled McAfee, not only were the transfers taking less time, but my computer was finally normal speed too.

I thought I'd share my experiance just in case people think it is normal (which I thought) or aren't sure why its performing so badly.

Also, I haven't tested this problem with other anti-viruses, so I'm not sure if others cause the same problem.

my MAV works fine... no lags on transfer

Well, I'm not sure what your setup is... But i noticed that if I have ActiveShield enabled, scanning only program files and documents, there is no lag in transfering. However, when it was scanning all files, it performed really badly.

Great tip. I had All Files on, and I knew that when McAfee was running, that it lagged my Syncing.
