Out of the blue the activesync doesn't work. The PDA connects when I insert it onto the cradle, but then after a few seconds it disconects. I recently upgraded to A03 ROM. Tried reinstalling activesync 3.8, hard reset, shutting off firewall etc but none worked.

The only thing I had done was to use the same USB port for transferring photos from my DC. I tried plugging the cradle to another USB port but it didn't make any difference.

It would be greatly appreciated if somebody would help.

The same is happening to me. Since I installed A03 ROM and Activesync 3.8 (more or less at the same time), syncronising became a problem. A few seconds after syncronisation starts, actyvesinc says that there is a syncronisation error. I am quite sure it is not the USB cable or craddle because with wi-fi I have the same problem.
I tried soft-resets, and erasing and recreating the partnership (sometimes works for a while, but then the problem comes back).

I would turn off ALL items (contacts, notes, tasks, etc) to sync in Active Sync options, then one by one, turn them on until you find the one that causes the dropped connection.

Do you have any other 3rd party sync condiuts (Avantgo, e-wallet, etc) enabled?

This happens on at least two X5's that I know of, with AS 3.8. Could be 3.8 is the culprit

Thanks for the sugestion donc36, but it is not working: I still have the same sync error message after a few seconds.
For 5 months I had no problems and since I installed activesync 3.8 and Rom03, it became quite a mess

Have you tried to delete and recreate the partnership yet (uninstalling AS does not necessarily delete existing partnerships).

When your Axim is not in its cradle, open AS on your PC and go to File>Delete Partnership.

The soft reset your Axim and put it in its cradle.

Happens with me and my X5.. Sometimes it wont disconnect and sometimes it just disconects on it's own.

 

I tried that. When I recreate the partnership it normally works once. But when I try it afterwards, it starts interrupting the syncronisations again.

What size is your "Pocket PC My Documents" folder - and what types of files do you have in there - any large ones?

I had this issue and found my inbox on sync was the issue..I changed some settings to save 25 lines on email(as opposed to 100) and 3days..now seems to work
