Calendar notes not syncing

I have an x50v and am syncing to my work laptop which runs Outlook 2003. Everything works great, except that none of the note information entered in my Outlook Calendar gets synced to my axim. I am also currently using active sync 3.8 build 5004. Any ideas as to what is wrong or possible fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Same Issue with Contacts

I have been experiencing the same issue with Contacts. The Notes are blank on the Axim X50v. Using AS 3.8 also. I am unable to enter anything on the Notes tab of a Contact also. Same behavior for newly created Contacts too. Checked Calendar entries and same issue. Changed settings to Always replace item on device (same result). Sounds like a sync limitation or bug.

I can sync notes in calander and contacts with AS3.8 so you have a solvable problem. All we need to do is find it

You should be able to enter notes to contacts/calander etc. only when you open the contact/calander item and select edit from the menu popup down the bottom left of the screen.

As to why they are not syncing from the PC I am not sure...

Have you guys read Frenchy's ActiveSync tutorial in the tutorials section? Can you follow that through and see what happens. Let us all know how you go.

Cheers
Adrian

My Solution

Thanks for the push on this issue. I turned off the password under Settings, Personal and now sync the Notes and can add entries. Give that a try if it applies to your situation. I also turned off cache mode so I'm not sure which of these two items has made the ultimate difference.

I'm an old timer when it comes to Axim/AS. Ordered my first Axim X5 when they were announced back in November 2002. Other PDAs before that.

Solution

If you have a password on your Axim turn that off. That took care of the issue for me Leaving cache mode enabled in O2K3 works fine and was not the problem.

Something other than password?

I have not used the password option yet and still have the same issue. Did anyone ever have any luck with this? I've got no notes syncing and cannot add a note to contacts or calendar items. I swear that I saw them before when I first starting using this x50v a couple weeks ago.

I fixed the problem with a hard reset. I still have it occurring every once in a while and can solve with a soft reset. I have no idea what is causing this?
I may not be much...but I'm all I think about.

Since I've stopped using Switcher Bar to kill apps, it has not been a problem. When I did use it, the first time that I would kill either Calendar or Contacts, the notes would be disabled and blanked out. Is that what is happening with you?
