I can't say I am expert in this matter, but, I will take a stab at it. Maybe you somehow deleted your "partnership" between the PC and the Axim? Not sure, but if you did you need to reestablish it, with a new Mobile Device Name? If you want to try that you can recreate a partnership using the active sync window on your PC; click on "File", then "Get connected" and follow the instucts. Also check under "File" then "Mobile Device" and see what Sync names are already in existance, because you may not be able to use those. I suspect, you somehow deleted from your Aximor PC the "Partnership" sync name. Maybe someone else can be a little more specific.
i cant click "file/ get connected" because i already have a connection..... a "guest" connection. "get connected" is not highlighted.
as far as deleating things... i literally had a connection, undocked the axim, redocked and lost connection.
Although Ive never had your specific problem, anytime Ive ever had a problem syncing with my Axim through the cradle, my problem was fixed every single time by doing a soft reset.
One of the main reason behind the Guest partneship only issue is that the partnership got somehow corrupted on the PC and because of this the only one available was guest (Activesync prevent you to have multiple Standard Partnerships). If you had deleted all previous partnerships and try again it should have worked. At worst Activesync would also have to be removed and reinstalled. I hope this helps if you or other members encounter this again.

When I switched from x50 to x50v I learned something interesting. In installed activesync for the original x50 I got, then returned it and got the x50v. I found out the winxp registry has the log for the named device. So when I tried to use the device again (on the new ppc x50v), it forced me to make it a guest (although it did notify me that the device already existed).
Does make me wonder how many sync problems can be caused by xp registry corruption as opposed to just the mobile software or registry itself.
I got around my problem by copying the information from teh orginal registry entry (including the serial codes identifying the PPC) then deleting the new guest account it created. Works fine now.

Sorry Gigi, just saw this message... That is what I wanted to do, oddly, it did not give me the option to delete it. It only showed one connection (my work partnership) and not the one I wanted to delete.
This was also at a point when my desktop memory was going bad so all kinds of wierd things were happening (programs crashing, files corrupting, registry errors... ahhhh)
Ram is now replaced, sync reinstalled and all is right with my pc world!!! :approve:

Glad things are ok now. Just for future reference though: When you try to delete old partnerships, it will show only the latest active one. If you have more than one, you will have to manually select the one you want to delete by going to File - Mobile Device.
