Do you have Outlook installed? If not, try installing it from the Axim CD and see if that makes a difference.

Short of that, you could try a previous version of AS from the MS website.
Yep, I've tried selecting one item at a time, and any one will give a sync error.. But now, even more strange is that with nothing checked, I'm getting the same error also.. Now just "Guest" will work..

As for outlook, I do have outlook installed, but don't use it.. I have never had a problem until the other day when my Axim developed some startup issue that wouldn't let anything load.. I had to hard reset.. That's when this problem started.. Even after a fresh hard reset (done 3 times now), with nothing extra installed... "Sync Error"

I also tried (3) versions of AS.. 3.6 wouldn't work for my 2003SE system, and 3.7 & 3.8 both have the same error !!

I quit too. Windows Mobile is a POS. Invariably my axim x50v locks up when I try to sync, and when the sync finishes, it gives the wrong results. Synchronization software is not difficult. I would have thought Microsoft would have figured out how to do this by now in a robust manner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for linux on the x50v.

One last thought before either of you quit: try using the sync cable through a primary USB port. If that doesn't work I guess it must me the Axim and not the cradle.

Sorry Guys, I'm out of ideas after this.

Cant tell from your list of things that you have done so far but it looks like you did a restore and that is when the trouble started? Have you tried doing a hard reset and then syncing before restoring anything? Just hard reset, set time correctly then sync. Sorry if I missed that in your list.

Yep, tried 3 different ports, and had the same problem on a totally different computer (Laptop) !!

However Activesync is installed in the device, it seems to be damaged !!
