Pocket Access

So when I first installed ActiveSync a couple of weeks ago, I got all excited when I saw the option to synchronize Access databases. I assumed for a second that if it was included by default in ActiveSync, it was likely that it was included with WM. Doesn't seem to be the case.

Is anyone using Pocket Access? Where are you supposed to get it and does it function well?

Thanks for any input.

Pocket Access doesn't exist: try dataontherun or similar. There are some free databases around that will meet most needs. The synch option has been retained to sync generic databases.

Thanks for the info. So all that material in the help files is old stuff that isn't relevant any longer? 3rd party is the only way to go?

As far as I know: a quick search for Pocket Access at Handango turned up this product, but it's not a Microsoft product. I still think that dataOnTheRun is the best, but I'm sure that others will have different opinions. The databases should sync with the Access database on your pc.

I saw that as well and realized that it was definitely 3rd party. Thanks for your reccomendation. I don't really need it that badly but it would be handy. I would prefer to find a good MS Project s/w for my Dell first.

Thanks.

Ahhhh......

Try CyProj for synching with MS Project. It's really a viewer with limited functionality, but if you're a project Manager, you'll find it excellent.

As for a simple database, what about a spreadsheet? SpreadCE is much better than Pocket Excel with good functionality and you can sync to the pc version of Excel. :approve:

Edited to fix link

I like HanDbase. I haven't used it in awhile, but I'm preparing to dive back into it. They have tons of database templates and a huge user base. I tried data on the run first and didn't like it, so I went w/this.
