Question Device overwrites computer

With Palm's ( ), the user can decide whether the device and computer sync, the computer overwrites the device, or the device overwrites the computer. Can Activesync do that?

CS from work won't let me install Outlook 2003 on my computer; I have only Outlook 2000. When syncing, data from the two versions doesn't seem to get along. I'd like to set syncing on my work computer so that the device ALWAYS overwrites the computer. I think I can get away with that.

Thanks,
DW

Open Activesync without your device connected. Click on Options > Rules and from the Desktop dropdown box choose always replace the item on this computer. That should get you where you want to be.

Activesynch can be set to overwrite the desktop. Open Activesynch, slsect Options, Rules tab, Conflict resolution -select the option you want.

somebody asked me that a while ago and I answered that of course you could do that then when they asked me how I couldn't find it for the life of me! I forgot that it was in that dropdown. thanks for the refresher.

Hmm That doesn't work

I've made that change. The change is still present in Options. I still get the message about conflict resolution and my only options are to combine them, replace my device with what is on the pc, or leave it unresolved. I want to replace what's on my pc with what is on my Axim X5. That's why I have the pocket pc, to keep track of changes while I'm away from my pc. I'm sick of having to combine the data then delete the outdated stuff from my pc.
