Sync over ethernet/Wi-Fi Fails only at work...

Axim x50v
ActiveSync 3.8 (installed on both work and home PCs)

History:
Got X50v for Christmas and got Wi-Fi working both at home and work, with sync working for both.

Shortly after going to 3.8 (not right away I might add), started getting "cannot connect" when trying to wo sync over Wi-Fi at work. Home still works fine.

Recenlty got a new PC at work (XP Pro SP2--old was Win-2k Pro) and hoped that would fix it. Did fresh install of AS-3.8 and got partnership working with USB. But still can't get ethernet/Wi-Fi link working. No longer get "cannot connect" error pop-up, it just doesn't connect...

Here's what happens:

- Connect to Wi-Fi fine (can surf)
- Fire-up AS on Axim
- Ensure work PC selected in options
- Click Connect
- After a few moments (10~12 seconds), "Disk" goes green in AS (only if open--tray icon never changes) and "Connecting..." displayed.
- After just 2~5 seconds, goes back to "Not connected"
- Another 8~10 seconds later AS on PPC goes to "Not connected" and no error listed

Network guys claim nothing has changed that would cause the problems I'm seeing (and naturally--it is not officially supported, so "I'm on my own" to resolve it...).

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...
