remote activesync through activesync

I only want to sync with my home computer even while at work. I have already established a partnership on my home computer. I installed activesync 3.7 on my work computer. Can I use my work activesync connection (as guest) and somehow sync with my home computer? I already have the proper port forwarding and such set up through my router.

You may have to find a third party software and install on the PPC to trace the connection from the PPC to your home PC. Unfortunatly I do not know any SW doing this.
If you get dead silence after breaking the speed of sound, would you be in the darkness after passing the speed of light?

I have been curious to know whether this could be done. How did you know what port numbers to open up on your router?

from some of the other threads that discuss remote activesync, but they are primarily using ethernet or wifi connections.

I would be concerned about security since I don't remember giving a password to use activesynch in my home. I think it may just use the owner name to determine who is trying to synch (especially if you have mutltiple CE devices in your home). Opening up the ports may allow anyone to activesynch as long as the device owner name matches up. If that's the case, it seems a little risky doing that.

Security is always a concern, but there are ways to minimize that.

frogster,

I don't know if you can sync with ActiveSync at home through ActiveSync at work, but here are a couple other methods you could try:

Andrew,

Thanks for replying. I have reviewed that site, but it doesn't solve the critical part of the problem. For this to work, I need to be able to establlish a tcp/ip connection via a usb cable without active sync. There may be a way to do this, but I don't know what it is.
