Can you sync with docs on a server?

When I used a Palm, one of the features I most liked about Documents to Go was that I could create a link with a document on our server that gets regularly updated (spreadsheets, for example), and then I would be sure to have the most recent version on my Palm.

With ActiveSync you can't create links, you have to place files in the Axim My Documents folder. So if I want a copy of a server document on my Axim the only way to do it is to manually place a copy in My Docs, and remember to replace / update this before I sync.

Is this the only way to sync docs? Is there any software available that would let me sync to documents stored in different places?

Thanks for any help, or suggestions of any 'work-arounds' for this!!

Yes, there is a third party software called "MightySync" that will allow you to sync with various files and folders. I also switched from a Palm and ran into this problem. But I use this program now and all is well.

thanks, I'll give that a try, could be very useful... & it's only 5.95, so won't break the bank!

I tried the trial version of Mighty Sync and couldn't sync many documents (maybe a limitation of the crappy Pocket Word program?) but I also couldn't link any network folder docs?

Has anyone else had luck? If so I will try some more.

Thanks.

Nevermind all that rubbish. I figured it out by actually looking at it again. It syncs network files just fine. Still have problems with many Word documents converting though? Anybody have input on this? Is one of those 3rd party word apps better to use with MightySync?
